Sleek weather forecast for your desktop.
Currently the widget displays weather information in English, German and French. But you can add your own localization!
I am currently working on an app prototype that will change the way you experience weather forecast on your iPhone. Simple, stylish, but yet detailed.
Weather forecast as it always should have been.
Hi, how do you get this to work on mac os?
It’s quite easy:
If you encounter any problems, please leave a comment. – Cheers, Robert
Can widescapeWeather widget be used in Windows 8? I have downloaded the application, but the system asked me to find a app to open it. I don't know what to use. Thank you.
Hi, it should work on Windows 8. If you downloaded the widescapeWeather widget, you’ll need the Yahoo Widget engine, too. You can download it here: http://widescape.net/widgets/downloads/yahoo-widgets-4.5.2.exe
I greatly appreciate the widget. I just replaced my monitor, and I am no longer able to move the widget with my mouse. I have left the "Ignore Mouse" and "Prevent Dragging" option under Window Preference unchecked. Can you suggest how I can again change the location of the widget? Thank you.
Hi! You should be able to move it by holding the CTRL key (CMD key on a Mac) before and while dragging the widget. Does this work for you?
Hello, first of all I want to TANK YOU for maintaining this widget alive. I LOVE it and would be horrified if it would die. :o) My question is: is it possible to modify something for the widget to display the day, date and forecast days in french? I'm asking this becaus the reference page for the weather info the widget is linked with is in french, but the displayed info are in english. Best regards and thank you very very much. Pierre
Thank you! I’ll take a look at this. I guess it should be possible. :)
Update: Here you go: Version 2.3 (Download) comes in English, French and German. Thanks for your help, Pierre!
But: I am planning to keep widescapeWeather alive. The widget has its own version check - independent of Yahoo’s. So I am optimistic that the widget will continue its service and you’ll still get updates.
Currently there is an issue with Weather Underground’s data feed. Yesterday they implemented a new 10 day forecast feature and it seems, this release broke the 3 day forecast that the widescapeWeather widget uses.
This also leads to a disappearing location.
I already contacted them about it and hope the issue will be solved shortly.
Update: And it’s fixed!
